Cub Scouts

I never want my blog to seem like one of those continuous Christmas "brag" letters. However, I do need to take a few lines to shine a little spot light on Conner because I am so proud of him and his efforts.
We have been pretty much home bound since school and football started because they make it so hard to get away. Monday through Friday Conner gets home from school and does his homework, early dinner, off to football practice, works on some scout stuff, then off to bed. He has games on Saturday and then we usually take off for the BSU game. Run, run, run. The little guy is thriving though. His teacher has put him in an advanced math curriculum, just like his last years teacher, despite being the smallest kid in all of freshman tackle football, he is really tearing it up, AND he just got his Wolf in Cub Scouts along with 3 silver arrow points and one gold arrow point. Way to go Conner!
I do laugh after I have typed though. I hope I have not jinxed us and Conner will end up a high school drop out who works at McDonald's the rest of his life! ha ha
I would also like to thank everyone for their concern for my sister, Jen, who lives in Houston and just went though Hurricane Ike. It is so thoughtful of you! Their power was finally restored a few days ago and her kids go back to school today! Yahoo!

Some pictures my sis sent me of her neighborhood. Thank goodness the tree missed her house!

Mush!

Little Mace started solids this week! Poor guy has had some tummy troubles, so I was a little worried how he would handle it. When he was born he had projectile spit up and was so cranky. He would clinch is his little fists and turn bright red and just scream. The doctor put him on some acid reflux medicine and he turned into a totally different kid. He is all smiles now. The reflux is supposed to get better as he starts eating more solids. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
I was in hopes he would start sleeping better at night too now that he goes to bed with a very full belly. However, he is waking up more! Hopefully the little stinker gets it soon and sleeps all through the night, Mom and Dad are tired!

Mush face Mason!

What a Croc!

When we took the boys to Hawaii Zack's flip-flops were making blisters in between his toes so we picked him up a pair of Crocs. He fell in love with his little Crocs. As soon as he would wake up he would say "shoe" and put them on and they would stay on his little feet all day until he fell asleep.

One of our favorite family pass times is the river. We love to float it, but last summer Zack was too little and this summer Mason was too little. So we settled on a little sand bar close to campus where the kids could play. We try to make an afternoon out of it and pick up some sushi for a picnic and then take the kids over to the sand bar and play fetch with Bear.

On our last trip to the river we forgot Zack's water shoes so he wore his Crocs. Naturally when you play in sand and water, your feet get nasty. So I took his Crocs off before I put him in the car. We went home and that was that. UNTIL Zack asked for his "shoes" we couldn't find them anywhere! I am pretty sure I left them on the ground when we loaded the kids into the car. The next few days were torture! Zack would put his little hands up (like you do when you ask where is it) and say "Shoe go? Shoe go Momma?" I would tell him shoes were gone and he would cry "Shoe Momma, shoe". He was so cute running all over the house looking for them, under the couch, under his bed, in the closets, everywhere. What a great mom I am to lose my child's pride possession!

Well Victor and I were doing some shopping in REI and what did Zack's little eyes spy but a pair of Crocs! He got so excited and started breathing so fast and pointing and screaming "Shoe, shoe, shoe!" They were even the fuzzy lined ones perfect for the fall! And now all is well in our household that Zackie has Crocs once more. Funny the things we are attached to as a child.

Into the BLUE

This year Conner wanted more than anything to play tackle football. We had to sign a waiver because you are supposed to be 9 to play tackle. We warned him these kids were going to much bigger but he didn't care, he just wanted to play tackle football and nothing else. We signed the waiver and kept our fingers crossed that little Conner would make weight (you have to be 55 lbs to play). He is already the smallest kid in his class but somehow he managed to come in at 56 lbs! The other kids were huge! Twice the size of Conner! Some kids had to go on diets because you can't weigh more than 100 lbs. Diets at age 9?
As many of you know, we are devout BSU football fans! I have had several friends on the team and Conner just loves it when we go to the games and they wave to him from the turf. So, when Conner's team got to play a game on the famous blue turf he was thrilled to death! The debut was short, each team only got 4 plays. But I am sure it was a moment Conner will always remember. He had a blast!

Getting Started

Me and my big mouth. I love reading blogs but was not too big on the idea of starting one for us. I joked with a couple of friends that the day they started one I would too. . . so that brings us to this! I am a woman of my word.
We really aren't that interesting and I am not sure who will even be reading this. However, we do have friends and family scattered all over the US and it just might be a better way to keep everyone posted. I often find myself saying "Oh didn't I tell you?" and "I promise I will e mail some pictures" and then never do!
Sooooo here we go!
