The Boys

I am so thankful for my boys. They bring so much laughter and happiness to our lives. It is fun to use the blog as our family journal and look back at the things the kids did or said.

We bought Zack a sign language Baby Einstein a few months ago and he picked it right up! I wish we would have got it for him a long time ago. He is a great little talker, saying new stuff everyday, and now it is fun to see him sign along with it. I am not a fan of really letting my kids watch very much TV. We first got a few Baby Einstein movies for Zack to watch in the car, but they really have been great and he just loves them.

Conner has been a great big brother this week. He is totally into Legos, we have buckets full at our house. He can build some of the most awesome stuff! Most of all he is great with Zackie when he wants to do what his big brother is doing. Conner will build him all sorts of fun little things. Zack calls all of the Star Wars Lego people "Ga Guys" and he will even hum the Star Wars song when he sees them too.

Conner and Zack will cuddle up together every once in while when they are watching a cartoon. It is cute. Zackie is saying "Cheese" for me.

As you all know, Zack is OBSESSED with football. Well the other day he threw his little football to Mason and yelled, "Tackle!" then ran over and tackled Mason! Mason didn't mind it the first couple times (Zack wasn't too ruff or we would have stopped it) but after that he was done and didn't want to play with Zackie any more. Can you blame him?!?! After Zack tackles him he will walk over and give Mason a big kiss on the head.

Tackle! Poor Mason!

Mason is all over the place! Conner and Zackie crawled and walked at a pretty early age but I was happy for Mason to take his time and now that he is everywhere and into everything I reminded why I felt that way. He is a fun happy little guy.

Time goes by too quick. They are growing way too fast!

Midlife Crisis

Old fogies.

Wow, I just hit the big 3-0! Happy Birthday to me! I didn't think my 30th birthday would be any big event or any different from my other birthdays. However, as the big day got closer I started to think more and more about things.
I remember when 30 was soooo old. I still buy clothes from the same stores with teeny boppers, should I have outgrown this by now? I don't know! I am even a bit embarrassed to admit that I even recently purchased a shirt from Gap Kids!!! (It was super cute though!) Am I one of those who is ancient and trying to stay forever young? You are only as old as you feel right? I still feel like I am 21!
I also spent most of the morning examining my wrinkles, wondering if my crows feet were getting bigger. Yuck! My most wonderful hubby took for a full day of shopping. I went to the Bobby Brown counter just to get some more powder. . . yep almost $200 later I walked away all new "anti wrinkle" creams and a whole new youthful look.
Is it possible to have a midlife crisis at 30? I honestly usually can't remember how old I am. One of my best buds, Krista, and Victor are usually constantly reminding of my real age. Everyone drilled into my head I was 30 this year so now I remember! I think I liked it better when I was naive to the fact of my true age.
We celebrated with an all day shopping excursion and dinner at the Melting Pot with some friends followed by a girls day with shopping and a movie the next afternoon with a few of my other friends who couldn't make it the night before. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us and all of your phone calls and well wishes. It really means a lot to me. I love you guys! PS- Krista and Robyn, everytime we go to the Melting Pot I think about you guys! ha ha Remember when. . . ;)
Paula & Chris- I caught Paula at just the right moment of putting food in her mouth!
Cute little Tif.
My adorable Dani- I am sure the look of shock is because she is astounded I am 30!
Vic and Kelton.
Well, old or not, walker or no walker, lots of wrinkles or just a few I do have so much in my life to be grateful for. My kids are healthy and happy, I have a wonderful husband who loves and spoils me, we have the best friends and family who would do anything for us (as we would for them), we have roof over our heads, and food on the table! I guess I will just keep living my life like I am 21 with just a tad more wisdom, it seems to be working well so far!

To my sweet little Victor, thanks so much for making my birthday extra special and doing so with a big smile on your face. You're the best! I love you.

Bear Scouts

Conner had a Blue and Gold Ceremony this week for Scouts. The Bears were asked to make a desert. The desert had to be either Scout or American themed and Moms could not help. Victor and Conner made this cake all by themselves! I thought they did great, good work boys!

Chefs in the making!

The actual Bear logo.

The cake. The boys made a cherry chip sheet cake and cut it to the right size then placed their chocolate bear's head cake on top and decorated it.

Conner won Best Scout Theme.

Pee Good!

Not much to report here. I have been doing some traveling for work so when I have been home we have just happy to be enjoying one anther's company and are in no rush to run off somewhere.

We did have a Zackie incident that makes me laugh every time I think about it. Zack is our little ham and is always saying or doing something funny, but this one was good!

I had the two little ones in the tub for their nightly bath as always. Zack kept bending down and drinking the water. I told him, "Zackie that is yuck! I am sure you or Mace have peed in there. Quit drinking the water!"

Zack gets a big smile on his face, bends down and slurps up some more water. Then he sits up with another huge smile and proclaims, "Ummmmmmmmmm, pee good!"

I guess it could be good for him to build up his immune system right??? ;)

Winter Festival

We just got back from the opening of McCall's annual winter festival. We had so much fun! I have always wanted to go to it but we have always had something for school or work. I was so excited to go and the festival is definitely something we will now be attending every year!
There were so many awesome sculptures, I only put in pictures of few.
The new hundred dollar bill featuring Conner.

For those of you who are not familiar with McCall, it is the cutest little resort town. It sits on a beautiful lake and is about 20 miles from 2 different ski resorts. It is a great little get away any time of year.

The festival had all sorts of vendors and events going on. All of the businesses have major snow and ice sculptures. There is even a snow sculpture competition. It is fun to walk all over town and just check stuff out. They did a big fireworks display over the frozen lake on Friday night and had a parade on Saturday.
This one is a little hard to see. It is a polar bear fishing and it has a slide that comes down and the kids finish on the ice. If you look closely you can see the kids lined up on the back waiting for their turn.

The first time Zackie came down he just laid on the ice. It was so funny. But he loved it and wanted to go down a million more times!

Conner fell and smacked his head hard on the ice. Poor kid- he is always the one to get hurt!

My favorite snow sculpture was a castle that sat on a bunch of trees. The boys could play inside and climb all through it. We all had a blast.
My favorite sculpture.

The boys in part of the sculpture pictured above.

Conner is such a good big brother. He followed Zackie around and helped him all through the sculptures. Cute brothers!
Zackie put on the water works after every display we left. He could have stayed forever!
They had fun little sledding hill so while we were waiting for the fireworks to start we bought Conner a little sled and he had a wonderful time!
When we were driving up our car was reading 10 degrees outside so we were a little worried. But it warmed up to a balmy 33 degrees and we were all bundled up nice and toasty.

Victor with Tiffany and Kristen. Tif was such a good little momma always making sure everyone was taken care of. And both girls provided an extra set of helpful hands while we were chasing the boys around. They are so awesome! Thanks girls! I love em'!!!

The boys just hanging out at the cabin. Chris, Conner, Vic, Mace, and Zackie.

Little Mace was tuckered out!

Til' next year!
