Happy Birthday Mason!

I know I say this all of the time, but seriously, where does time go? It seems like once we had children time went into warp speed. I can't believe my baby just turned two!!

We had a fabulous weekend of celebrations. My wonderful parents came up and we have been on the countdown for them to arrive. We have been so excited to see them! Victor and I were able to escape for an "adult" dinner with Gram & Poppa without the kiddos. I was dying to get them to try my new favorite restaurant (mentioned in my last post) and ice cream. And we certainly were not disappointed, it was even better than the first time! My mom and I were also able to enjoy some kid free shopping! I was so excited to fill my closet with some new spring clothes. The boys took off for some shooting and were able to enjoy some "male bonding".
Mason was so cute and knew it was his special day. He kept singing Happy Birthday to everyone. It is quite obvious he comes from me. When we asked him what he wanted for his birthday the only thing he said he wanted was "cake. . . . elephant". A few fun facts about Mason: Mason's elephant cake.
  • He is super smart. He has always been a good talker and knows his ABC's, counts to 20 on his own, knows his shapes and colors, and counts to 10 in Spanish (he also knows and uses a handful of Spanish words).
  • He is the sweetest little thing and the biggest cuddle bug! He loves to be held constantly! He will come up to us out of no where and kiss our leg and tell us he loves us.
  • Cuddling with Poppa. He loves Gram and Poppa more than anything and talks about them constantly!

  • He is also the meanest little thing! He loves to torment, especially poor Zack.
One day they were just beating on each other and Mason comes into my office and says, "Zackie crybaby." I asked him why Zack was crying and if he beat him up and he replied with a big smile, "Yep! Beat him up." So I told him that was naughty and he needed to go tell Zack sorry. So, he runs to the hallway and yells, "Sorry you a crybaby Zackie!"
  • He loves to be outside no matter what he is doing.
  • Gram is the best! She goes out and pushes the boys in her PJs!

  • He has a little blanket that he carries around and calls his "Nie" and he always sits and plays with the tag.
  • He adores all animals, but has a huge fondness for elephants. In his little Gap outfit from Gram & Poppa. We saw the shirt and knew he had to have it!
  • Every night when I am putting on his PJs he will ask, "You good day mommy?" (Did you have a good day).
  • He loves to play all sports. Basketball and football are his favorites. He was so excited about T-Ball set he got he wouldn't put it down to open the rest of his presents.
  • His favorite food is pizza. He gets so excited if we order or make pizza. He will run around clapping his hands and yelling, "Yeah peep-a (pizza)!"
Eating grilled pizza for his birthday dinner!
  • He is a daredevil. He has no fear And is always happy!
  • He doesn't like it when someone is sad in a movie. He will say, "Ohhhh dat (that) guy sad. Fick (fix) it mommy!"
  • He plays possum when he gets in trouble. He will put his head down and be completely motionless but watch us with his little eyes that appear under his long bangs. It is so cute and funny. It is hard to not laugh when he is trouble!

Happy Birthday my little Mason. We love you so much!

And thanks sooooo much for great weekend Mom & Dad!

Pinewood Derby

Can you tell it has been all things scouts at our house lately? Conner was able to participate in the Pinewood Derby this year and he was so excited. He has missed the last couple years because we were in Hawaii when it was held. Conner was stoked to learn we would be here for it this year.Conner wanted to make an "official" looking race car and Victor suggested Lightning McQueen. Conner thought it was a great idea because he wanted to make his little brothers happy who just happen to love the movie Cars. I think they did an awesome job! And his little brothers were so excited to cheer for him!The scout pack that Conner belongs to hired a cool pinewood derby pro. The man has a cool electronic set up and even built a fun podium for the winners. They turn the lights off and call each out scout out individually and shine a spotlight on them and tell a few things about them. It was fun and made all of the boys feel special.
Conner ended up taking third overall (I think there were around 15 boys total)!! He even got a cool little pinewood derby badge to pin on his uniform. His car was also voted "Most Hollywood". It was such a fun little activity for father and son. I think it is safe to say that Victor was just as excited and thrilled as Conner.
Conner also got a few more awards. Way to Conner!
Just a little FYI for friends who share the same city as us. Victor and I discovered the most wonderful restaurant this weekend! It was so yummy that I seriously can not stop thinking about it and had to share. Our food was supurb and I can not wait to go back. Check it out, Cafe Vicino. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken and Victor had the halibut, both were so yum, yum, yummy! There are those who eat to live, and those who live to eat. I most certainly fall in the latter category! :) I hope you get a chance to try it, be sure to make reservations if you do.
